Suspension Without Compromise
For quite some time you have heard me complain about suspensions being for off road control, not on-road comfort. Their quality, on e-bikes, is questionable at best, anyway. The video pasted below does an excellent job of explaining why you might want a suspension stem and seatpost instead.
I’ll take it one step further. How about a dropper seat post, so you can remain seated at a stop, with suspension and a suspension stem (pictured above)? It works, though I am still a fan of saddles with springs…
If you want to get rid of that buzz constantly coming up from the road, or just to cushion broken pavement and rail trail gravel, this is the way to do it. The fact that it is lower maintenance, lighter weight and cheaper, is just a bonus. I wish bike mfg’s would get on board.
